Equipment identity
Machine, engine and plate identifiers have different purposes. Match each to its records; they need not share the same number. Record model, build year, identifiers and component changes.
Seller and ownership evidence
Check seller identity, acquisition evidence and authority to sell. Obtain purchase, transfer and finance records according to history and have transaction professionals review them.
Finance and unresolved issues
Where finance records exist, obtain verifiable status or settlement evidence. Resolve withheld information, unclear identity and conflicts before progressing payment.
Contract records
Attach the evidence list, disclosures, review findings and agreed handling of discrepancies. This is a purchasing checklist; review transaction terms for the actual case.
This is a general purchasing and evidence checklist. Confirm actual condition, transaction terms and import/export requirements for the case.
Check each record
Collect available factory documentation, purchase invoices, transfer history, seller identity and authorization. For financed equipment, obtain settlement or release documents. Match the machine, engine and plate identifiers to their respective records; these are different identifiers. Record missing items and verification results.
Finance and title risks
A verbal promise does not resolve liens, seizure or disputes. With authorization, verify with the original financier and have qualified advisers check relevant registers and court records. A single search cannot exclude every title risk. Specify title assurances, document accuracy, remedies and refund procedures in the contract.
